Occupational Therapist (Rotational)
We are looking for motivated and passionate Occupational Therapists to join the rotations at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. The rotational post is suitable for new graduates (those who are due to become HCPC registered soon), as well as more experienced band 5s.
The rotational post provides an excellent opportunity to broaden your knowledge in a range of specialties such as:
* Stroke
* Elderly Care
* Surgery & Orthopaedics
* Neuro rehabilitation (Currently based at West Berkshire Community Hospital)
* Acute Medical Unit (front door services)
We offer a comprehensive support package for band 5's to develop their skills; including the use of a band 5 passport which covers key skills and learning opportunities required, workshops and training sessions, and an OT specific practice educator on site. We also have a strong band 5 support group, a buddy system, and regular in-service sessions.
Main duties of the job
* To be an occupational therapist delivering patient-centred, caring therapy for Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust Hospital (RBFT).
* To be professionally responsible for all aspects of your own work including the therapeutic management of patients in your care, in conjunction with your supervisor.
* To use your occupational therapy knowledge and skills to provide support and advice to the multi-disciplinary team and to manage your own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner.
* To deliver a high-quality, effective, and efficient occupational therapy service in the Therapy team.
* To be a member of the Therapy Department team, contributing to service development in Therapies and the Trust.
* To deputise for the Band 6 Specialist Occupational Therapist as required.
