Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of the Project Implementation and Training Officer role include:
1. Deliver a range of training to meet the needs of customers, including new starters and existing end users involved in new projects/systems.
2. Ability to deliver training in a variety of formats, i.e., virtual, formal classroom, 1-2-1 tutor led, small group, and demonstration sessions.
3. Creation of system specific training packages and supporting materials, e.g., creation and upkeep of lesson plans, quick reference guides and eLearning.
4. Administration requirements of the team in booking training, dealing with queries, and providing advice and guidance around system functionality.
5. Interrogating systems functionality, investigating issues and problem solving, working towards being a systems expert.
6. Encourage and facilitate the development and systems knowledge within the team to achieve shared business goals.
7. Record details of all training undertaken, assist in the collection of training statistics, evaluation results and reports.

Essential
1. Working knowledge of MS Windows Office, internet and email applications up to subject matter expert level
2. Knowledge of the Data Protection Act and issues around data confidentiality
3. Extensive knowledge of clinical and business functions across the local health community
4. Detailed knowledge and awareness of uses of Health Informatics across the NHS
5. Detailed understanding, interpretation and application of appropriate business system process redesign models along with project implementation and training experience.
Desirable
1. A clear understanding of the local and national IT strategic requirements and plans. Understanding of Change Management processes applied to project implementations across the NHS.
Qualifications
Essential
1. A relevant degree or Level 4/5 training certificate or equivalent training experience
2. In possession of the ECDL/MOST qualification
3. Knowledge of and experience of working in a PRINCE2 project management environment
4. Excellent IT skills with Advanced Keyboard skills
5. Knowledge of project management and business change tools such as Microsoft Project & Microsoft Visio
Desirable
1. Level 3 Training and Education Award or equivalent
2. In possession of or working towards the completion of the Advanced ECDL
3. On-going personal and professional development
