Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Levenshulme Teaching Personnel is seeking a Maths Graduate Teaching Assistant to join an Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ secondary school in Levenshulme. This is a full-time position starting immediately and continuing until the end of the academic year, with the potential for a permanent role based on performance. Role Overview This role is ideal for a recent maths graduate who is passionate about education and looking to gain practical experience in a school setting. It is particularly suited for individuals considering a career in teaching, tutoring, or educational support. The successful candidate will work alongside teachers to support students in developing their mathematical skills and confidence, both in and out of the classroom. Key Responsibilities: Providing one-to-one and small group support to students who require extra help with maths. Assisting teachers in planning and delivering engaging and accessible maths lessons. Helping students with problem-solving, exam techniques, and numerical reasoning. Supporting students with different abilities, including those with special educational needs (SEN). Encouraging students to develop a positive attitude towards maths and overcome any learning barriers. Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers to help tailor lesson plans. Assisting with classroom management, ensuring a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Helping to prepare lesson resources, worksheets, and intervention materials. Supporting students in preparing for GCSE exams, including revision and practice sessions. Candidate Requirements: A degree in Mathematics or a related subject (2:2 or above preferred). A strong passion for maths education and student development. Excellent communication and problem-solving skills. A patient, adaptable, and proactive approach to supporting students with varying learning needs. The ability to work both independently and as part of a team within a school environment. Previous experience working with young people (e.g., tutoring, mentoring, classroom support) is desirable but not essential. Salary & Benefits: Weekly pay between £419.25 - £500, depending on experience and responsibilities.
