About the Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Manager within the Women and Children’s directorate at George Eliot Hospital. The Women and Children’s directorate have recently had a successful NHSE visit, and a successful West Midlands Perinatal Network Peer Review. The directorate is also in the process of setting up a Gynaecology Assessment Unit, which the successful general manager will be heavily involved with over the next year. The Maternity Services at George Eliot Hospital are rated as ‘good’ by the CQC.
Key Responsibilities
1. Support the Clinical Director in directing, guiding and leading the Directorate Management Teams in the overall management of the Directorate.
2. Develop Business strategic plans and performance management frameworks to ensure delivery of all key activity and financial targets.
3. Engage Clinical Managers in the complex management agenda including the preparation of annual business plans and the development of capacity and capability to deliver both local and national priorities.
4. Participate in the Trust's On-call management rota.
5. Ensure robust performance management development systems are developed to inform internal stakeholders and meet external requirements.
6. Lead the preparation of inspections and reviews to achieve compliance with NHS and statutory requirements.
7. Review and report on Directorate performance indicators to demonstrate compliance against national standards.
8. Analyze and translate data from various sources into effective knowledge management.
9. Ensure effective and optimum utilization of all resources within the Women and Children’s Directorate Management Teams.
10. Lead the implementation of an Electronic Patient Record (EPR) solution within the directorate.
Strategic Development
1. Identify key activities for service improvement and business development within the Directorate.
2. Develop effective partnerships with other Directorate Management Teams and Corporate Directorates.
3. Lead service redesign with multidisciplinary teams, clinicians and operational managers.
Financial Responsibilities
1. Establish a strategic direction for business planning and reflect the priorities of the organization.
2. Maximize income opportunities throughout the Directorate.
Leadership and Workforce Development
1. Provide leadership and direction to ensure effective utilization of Management teams.
2. Develop a workforce that is fit to deliver the Trust's Strategy.
3. Promote a culture of equality, inclusion and engagement across the Directorate and Trust.
