We're looking for a passionate Financial Reporting Specialist to join our dynamic team on a 12month secondmentWhy You'll Love This Role • Impactful Reporting: Prepare quarterly, half-yearly, and annual reports for stakeholders, regulatory, and statutory bodies. • Advisory Role: Advise on new accounting standards, interpret and disseminate Group Accounting and external guidance, and support the finance team with training and processes. • Audit Management: Oversee the external audit process, including audits of financial returns submitted to Ofgem and banks, resolving queries and issues from auditors and regulatory bodies. • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor junior members of the Financial Reporting team, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment. • System Maintenance: Maintain the Consolidation module (BPC) to ensure effective use of systems in reporting processes. • Collaborative Reporting: Assist with monthly consolidated reporting, manage the close cycle, and ensure the functionality of reporting systems for management and regulatory reporting. • Expert Support: Provide support on key accounting areas, track distributable reserves, assist with treasury refinancing requirements, and support the dividend payment process. • Continuous Learning: Build your knowledge of Financial Reporting, Treasury, and Regulatory Reporting and its impact on the industry and business. • Innovative Environment: Contribute to the development of a motivated, innovative, and customer-focused finance team. • Drive Change: Support the delivery of change across Finance and the business, embracing new ways of working to drive long-term business capability improvements. • Documentation Excellence: Assist with high-quality documentation of end-to-end processes and controls, ensuring governance and internal financial control over processes are robust.What You'll Bring: • Qualified Accountant: Minimum ACCA Qualified (ACA/ICAEW desirable). • Technical Expertise: Detailed experience in preparing Group and company accounts (Listed or large private) with in-depth knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP. • System Knowledge: Familiarity with consolidation systems (SAP preferable) and excellent Excel skills. • Mentoring Skills: Experience in managing and coaching junior team members. • Audit Interaction: Experience in dealing with and managing auditors. • Team Player: Ability to work as part of a dynamic team with high levels of motivation to meet deadlines and a hands-on approach. • Relationship Building: Ability to build effective working relationships with stakeholders at all levels of the business.
