The Role

This role will suit an experienced HR professional, possibly from a Shared Services with HR Generalist experience.
The People Services Team Leader will be responsible for managing the People & Culture People and Senior Advisor Team and ensuring a highly efficient and timely administrative service is maintained for both internal and external stakeholders.
Working closely with the People Consultants, Strategic people partnering team, P&C specialists and Payroll Team. The role will also work on key projects and initiatives which align to group people plans and our CAA people strategy.
Key Duties Include
1. Delegate and monitor workloads, whilst developing the team and supporting the People Advisor Team
2. Ensure service levels are met and always to a high standard
3. Manage the People Advisor Team including providing coaching and support, conducting performance reviews, addressing any training gaps, managing their absence, reviewing their workload, and resolving any employee issues that arise.
4. Act as the point of escalation and main contact for senior stakeholders
5. Manage applications, onboarding, compliance checks, and offboarding processes
6. Assist the People Service Manager and Head of People Services with projects, process improvements.
7. Provide coaching and mentoring to Senior People Services Advisors with Employee Relations cases
8. Collaborate with the different teams within People and Culture to develop systems and processes to ensure cover across disciplines of HR, Resourcing, Systems, Reward and Talent Development, so that a seamless service is provided.
9. Lead and manage all changes to colleague records ensuring accuracy and timeliness of processing to ensure colleague records are maintained effectively.
The People Services Team Leader will have a HR Shared Services with HR Generalist background, have experience in managing teams and dealing with performance matters. The ideal candidate will also have a calm and positive approach, with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills.
About You
To be successful in this role you will have:
Essential
1. Experience of people management
2. Experience using People/HR systems
3. Experience of working with Microsoft Office applications at high levels.
4. Proven experience in a HR generalist role with a track record of advising on casework and building trusted working relationships with managers.
5. Good judgement with the ability to evaluate risk and generate options for line managers
6. Must have an eye for detail and accuracy.
7. Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and communicate effectively both within the team and externally with colleagues at all levels in the organisation.
8. Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to adopt a logical approach to resolving problems.
9. Good time management and organisation skills.
10. Good Influencing and negotiation skills.
11. Proven ability to prioritise effectively for self and team.
Desirable
1. Level 5 CIPD
2. Knowledge of People/HR System Success Factors
3. Proficient knowledge of UK employment law with experience of applying this to Employee Relations casework

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.

Relocation & Property
The CAA will be relocating from Aviation House (Our Gatwick Office) to new premises in a few years’ time. Our move is driven by strategic, operational and environmental considerations.
We will be moving to a new local home, up to a 15-mile radius of Aviation House, to minimise disruption for our valued colleagues and customers.
We are now working with colleagues and visitors to understand what we need in our new office, before we start our property search. We will sell Aviation House and land, vacate the site and move to new premises, but we do not expect to move before 2028.
