Responsibilities:
1. Prepare a strategic plan of how each individual project is to be executed by working with the support of the Director of Projects or a Senior Project Manager, the business development team and internal heads of departments to assign project teams covering all relevant discipline – mechanical design, electrical design, control system design, manufacturing, on-site delivery and commissioning.
2. Leading those project teams to agree solutions, timeframes and budgets.
3. Manage clients to agree on clear scope, schedule and contract, and manage the project to that contract, negotiating changes and variations where applicable, with the support of the Director of Projects or a Senior Project Manager and Contracts Manager.
4. Verify that the project has been budgeted correctly and do any necessary follow up for own projects and direct other project managers to do so independently if there are any discrepancies in costing with the relevant sales and directors. Revise costs in line with client requests for changes and communicate changes to affected parties internally and externally.
5. Regular contact with site to ensure that work is managed and progressed safely and according to plan and to act on feedback from the site and troubleshoot any issues.
6. Visit the site and check progress as and when required.
7. Manage project cashflow ensuring purchasing is managed to limit cash outflow and income is realised as fast as possible.
8. Follow existing business processes & contribute to refining them.
Qualifications:
9. A Degree preferably in Engineering or a similar technical discipline
10. A good understanding of the stage and/or spectaculars industry
11. Budget control
12. Previous experience within a project management role
13. Proven experience in staff management
14. Possess excellent IT skills and a working knowledge of MS Office
15. High level of verbal and written communication skills
16. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with all levels of management
