Job Description:
As the support team receiver engineer lead, your role will be broadband, dynamic and challenging. Every day will be different, where challenges can appear at short notice in any stage of the manufacturing process. Working alongside operations personnel, you will be on hand to provide your engineering judgement and guidance to ensure the smooth progress of the highly complex processors and receivers through the manufacturing process in a timely manner.
As the lead engineer, you will have full responsibility for all aspects of engineering support to production of the receiver LRI, managing and growing your team as required.
You will :
* Lead the receiver support team, identifying key objectives, delegating work and managing progress.
* Be a primary engineering point of contact for operations, a key individual in the delivery of Typhoon radar production.
* Provide engineering judgement and guidance to ensure production output targets are achieved.
* Plan and execute effective root cause / corrective action plans.
* Work hand in hand with the product development teams to ensure lessons learned and DFx best practices are deployed at early lifecycle stages for future products.
Skills, Qualifications & Knowledge Required
* A degree or higher qualification in Electronics/ or a related engineering discipline.
* A positive self-starting personality with an ability to think on your feet and make decisions in a timely manner.
* Exceptional problem solving skills and a demonstrable tenacity for understanding and implementing robust Root Cause and Corrective Action plans.
* Good understanding and experience of the design of high performance products for series production.
* Ability to obtain SC Clearance for UK-caveated programmes.
Skills & Knowledge Desired
* Experience in a similar role, supporting production of complex electro mechanical systems.
* Ideally, you will have an electronics background with around three years RF experience with a view to owning a level of design authority for the product. But this role primarily requires an engineer who is a pragmatic self-starting leader
