This is an exciting opportunity to join our Medical Summarising team in an innovative, award-winning Practice situated in East London.
We are a busy practice in Forest Gate, London. We are looking for a locum medical summariser who is passionate about providing high-quality care.
You will be a valued member of a primary care team of 16 Doctors, 3 Practice Nurses, 3 HCAs, and 2 Summarisers.
Main duties of the job
The main responsibilities of the post-holder will be to summarise and Read Code relevant information from patients' clinical records into the Practice computer system, working strictly in accordance with the Practice notes summarising protocol.

We have a strong ethos of teaching and training and have between 3-5 GP Registrars and regular medical students. We have trained Nurse Practitioners, Practice nurses, and Independent prescriber Pharmacists.
Job responsibilities
Main Duties/Key Tasks:
1. Culling and sorting patient records and letters in preparation for summarising.
2. Reviewing medical records and producing an accurate summary of the patient's medical history.
3. Read Coding the information into the Practice clinical system.
4. Auditing data collection standards in the Practice.
5. Monitoring progress of notes summarising against Practice targets.
6. Monitoring patient call and recall systems.
Working with the Clinical Team in Meeting QOF targets.
Filing and retrieving paperwork.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* 2 years relevant post-basic experience and relevant post-basic qualification.
* Able to show further professional development.
* HCA NVQ or pre or post PLAB Dr.
