Infrastructure Services
The purpose of Infrastructure services is to ensure our services and systems are hosted effectively, securely and efficiently.
This is an exciting role within NHS England’s Cloud Centre of Excellence (CCoE). By providing a range of centralised services and orchestrating the adoption of standards and best practice, the Cloud Centre of Excellence will improve the quality, resilience and security of cloud services in the NHS; increase the speed at which new cloud services can be deployed; improve value for money; and significantly reduce costs and carbon emissions.
The teams are divided into four core areas providing technical and service management expertise:
• hosting
• cloud centre of excellence
• connectivity
• central capabilities
• Work with NHS England’s multi-cloud environment, dealing with teams that are building and supporting our critical National Services
• Use your infrastructure and cloud knowledge and experience to discuss technical topics with highly technical product teams
• Help deliver enterprise level services to automate and streamline future cloud adoption
• Collaborate with our chosen partners who provide enterprise-level industry knowledge
• Have a keen interest and understanding in all security aspects of modern cloud deployments, using cloud-native tooling and best of breed products
• Understand the value in documentation, knowledge sharing and bringing others along for the journey
The NHS England board have set out the top-level purpose for the new organisation to lead the NHS in England to deliver high-quality services for all, which will inform the detailed design work and we will achieve this purpose by:
• Enabling local systems and providers to improve the health of their people and patients and reduce health inequalities.
• Making the NHS a great place to work, where our people can make a difference and achieve their potential.
• Working collaboratively to ensure our healthcare workforce has the right knowledge, skills, values and behaviours to deliver accessible, compassionate care
• Optimising the use of digital technology, research, and innovation
• Delivering value for money.
