To provide 1st and 2nd Level asset and IT support to the Digital Asset Team and users across the Trust by providing IT solutions and specifications to user requests and queries. Administer, monitor and maintain the configuration management database (CMDB), ensuring accuracy of the asset inventory. Monitor asset performance throughout their lifecycle determining effective use of the equipment and make recommendations for adjustments. To liaise with the Trust's Receipts and Distribution Department for the receipt of all incoming IT assets.
To co-ordinate the work of the Digital Asset Technical Assistants and Digital Asset assistant, including planning the delivery schedules for equipment and WEEE waste collections. Act as an escalation point for technical assistance within own team. Allocate tasks to junior members of the team and monitor compliance. Work closely with junior staff to provide practical guidance, advice, training and support in all aspects of the Digital Asset team function.
Provide and receive complex and detailed information regarding technical matters ensuring the information is interpreted and disseminated within own team. Report to the Digital Asset Team Leader on a daily basis with regards to workload, work assignment and associated issues. Work on own initiative, prioritising own workload and responding to ad hoc requests as necessary. Ensure effective and efficient customer service ensuring users are kept up to date and appropriate records are maintained and closed.
To deploy and support a range of desktops, laptops, Android and iOS devices (mobile phones, iPads etc.) and associated software and peripherals throughout the Trust. To maintain the existing IT infrastructure by performing upgrades, new installations and carrying out routine procedures in accordance with standard operating procedures. Provide advice and guidance on replacement and cost as necessary. To receive, catalogue and asset tag all IT hardware before deployment throughout the Trust.
Provide advice and guidance to contractors providing supervision of them while on-site during system installations, upgrades or repairs. Participate in testing of new systems, evaluating and reporting on new IT hardware and software. Participate in the provision of an effective and efficient fault resolution service, by liaising with suppliers on warranty issues, recording actions via the ITSM tool, and comply with the escalation procedure to ensure minimum disruption of Digital services. Drive the departmental fleet vehicle in accordance with the Trust transport rules and conditions.
Collect WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) waste across 3 hospital sites and various community sites, return to asset office to be catalogued and disposed of in the holding container. Assist with the removal from site of all catalogued and declared WEEE waste with the ITAD contractor as and when required. Write and maintain IT documentation including updating records in the ITSM tool to record changes made and actions taken. Accurately log, monitor and maintain user enquiries in the ITSM Tool.
Complete PC builds to Trust specifications using Microsoft platforms ensuring all portable devices are encrypted in accordance with Information Governance guidelines. Deploy all PCs and peripherals to correct locations across the organisation. Inform the correct digital services team of any associated software received for installation and record on the Trust asset management solution. Assist in the development and maintenance of documented procedures for the Digital Asset team under the control of Digital Services.
Provide assistance to, and work closely with the Digital Operations, Digital Projects and Digital Technical teams. Provide advice and guidance to users on a wide range of IT hardware deployment enquiries. Undertake any other reasonable duties as directed.
