Experienced Accounts Assistant Needed
More Recruitment are working with a client based in Bedford who are looking for an experienced Account Assistant to join their accounts team. This is an immediate start for the right candidate.
Full-time (working hours flexible between 8am-6pm 5 days a week, based upon 37.5hrs) however they are willing to look at a part-time but must be able to commit to 3 full days, one of them being a Wednesday.
Our client is a well-established vehicle maintenance provider, offering a range of services including MOT testing, repairs, and breakdown recovery. They are committed to delivering high-quality service to clients and maintaining a supportive and dynamic work environment.
You must have an AAT Level 3 Diploma for this role.
Salary: 28,500 per annum, pro rata if part-time.
Job Description: We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Accounts Assistant to join our team in Bedford. The successful candidate will support the finance department with various accounting tasks and ensure the smooth operation of financial processes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Assist with the preparation of financial statements and reports
2. Allocate customer payments onto accounts
3. Reconcile card receipts and terminal
4. Process invoices, payments, and receipts
5. Raise sales ledger invoices to customers and provide support when queries arise
6. Reconcile bank statements and manage accounts payable/receivable, including factoring account
7. Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
8. Support the preparation of budgets and forecasts
9. Assist with payroll processing and employee expense claims
10. Handle queries from suppliers and customers regarding payments and invoices
11. Perform general administrative duties as required
Qualifications and Skills Needed for the Role:
1. Previous experience in an accounting or finance role
2. Strong numerical and analytical skills
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
4. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team
6. Good communication skills, both written and verbal
7. A proactive and positive attitude
8. Ideally hold an AAT Level 3 or similar qualification
