Physiological Science Practice Educator

Job overview
NHS England have awarded funding to NHS Kent & Medway (K&M) ICB to advance the development of Practice Education in Physiological Science across South East England. These roles will involve collaboration with Hampshire and Isle of Wight (HIOW) ICB and existing Practice Educators across the South East region.
As part of this exciting initiative, we are looking to second 2 Senior Practice Educators to NHS K&M. These secondment positions are fully funded for 6 months and will play a critical role in enhancing and expanding the training provision for Physiological Science professionals.

Main duties of the job
In this regional role, the Practice Educators will work under an Improvement Programme to address training provision shortages and develop innovative educational strategies across professional groups, including:
* STP and Route 2 for Clinical Scientists
* PTP and AHCS / RCT training schemes for Clinical Technologists
* HCS apprenticeship schemes at levels 2, 4, and 6
You will also focus on skill mix, upskilling opportunities, and creative approaches to delivering services in the Physiological Science sector. A key part of your role will be to support the establishment of a collaborative Practice Educator Network across South East England.
Initial Priorities
* Train: Developing a physiological science supervisor/educator collaborative or network across the South East region.
* Retain: Leading initiatives to improve the quality of practice training by advocating for and promoting educator development opportunities within the physiological science workforce.
* Reform: Coordinating the delivery of training across providers to leverage best practices and maximise training efficiency to boost training capacity and activity.
* Reform: Collaborating with peers from other South East ICSs and regional Practice Educators to share best practices and innovative training resources.

Person specification
Qualifications
* Educated to Masters level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in specialist area
* Registered as a Clinical Scientist with HCPC, or be registered with a suitable equivalent level national body
Attributes
* Good interpersonal skills for interacting with a range of health and care professionals and trainees across the region
* Good knowledge of training schemes, including STP and Route 2 for Clinical Scientists, PTP and AHCS / RCT training schemes for Clinical Technologists and HCS apprenticeship schemes at levels 2, 4 and 6
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
