The successful candidate will be experienced in Data Input, and you must have a flexible approach to working to meet the needs of a demanding service, the post holder will be required to undertake duties including:
Verification, Correction and updating of Emergency Department Patient information, Collection of data from medical notes. Undertaking validation of patient coded episodes to ensure optimisation of correct income tariffs.
Validation and completion of report forms to a high standard of accuracy
Liaise with nursing/medical staff to ensure accurate data collection and validation to ensure performance Targets are met.

Proven ability to prioritize, plan and organize work on a daily basis together with good communication skills that are essential to working to tight deadlines

• To investigate, validate and correct information relating to the Patients attendance/Discharge from the Emergency Department.
• To Audit, reconcile, and transfer clinically generated Coding information from the Patient Record and EDMS, inputting onto the A&E Department Maxims system.
• To ensure accurate input of patient information using all aspects of the Patient information system Care flow Live when adjusting errors, ensuring all attendance /Discharge details are correct.
• Contribute to accuracy and completeness of ED coding which underpins the Payment by Results initiative and national clinical coding requirements.
• To liaise with wards and other hospital departments as necessary to view information in source documentation, required to update Patient episodes.
• To work within the wider departmental Data Quality Team to investigate incidents of incorrectly recorded data and instigate appropriate remedial action.
• Demonstrate effective organisational and time management skills with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• To investigate, validate and correct information relating to the Patients attendance/Discharge from the Emergency Department.
• To be aware of Data Quality issues relating to CQUINN Targets of the department.
• To run, populate and disseminate discrepancy reports.

KEY DUTIES - CONTINUED
• Perform Data quality Audits on patient records scanned in the department ensuring compliance with agreed targets
• To actively participate in month end targets and Departmental service Audits
• To Alert Non-Clinical Services Manager, Admin Supervisor and users to recurrent problem areas.
• To be able to communicate with all levels of staff in the Trust be able to communicate messages and problems as they arise
• Oversee the safe storage and collection of Patients paper records ensuring compliance with Data protection.
• Be able to work as part of a team, promote effective workflows in the department to cover leave and sickness.
• Deal appropriately with all enquiries and requests, telephone, and e-mail, ensuring a responsive service is delivered
• To work in a flexible manner in accordance with Trust Policy.
• Maintain all working areas, ensuring health and safety procedures are adhered to.
• Adhere to Trust and departmental Uniform Policy
• Ensure compliance of all departmental Data Quality initiatives.
• Attend appropriate training, meetings, and education sessions at the request of manager.
• Suggest and implement new ways of working to improve efficiency.
• Any other duties required by your Line Manager
TEACHING & TRAINING RESPONSBILITIES:
• Assist Administration Supervisor with training and induction of new administration staff.
