What will you be doing?
We're seeking a talented qualified Accountant with relevant experience in an accountancy practice setting to join our team in Beaconsfield to provide clients with an efficient and effective service, through the control and efficient use of the department resources and by performing the work for clients within the portfolio. You will liaise with other departments to ensure close liaison on client affairs and assisting in administration tasks to ensure a smooth running of the department.
As Assistant Manager, your responsibilities will include among others
* Completing complex unaudited statutory accounts including corporation tax calculations.
* Preparing monthly and quarterly management accounts and quarterly VAT returns for your own portfolio of clients.
* Setting budgets with awareness of commercial aspects of clients business and impact on our work.
* Providing advice and solutions to clients in response to their accounting queries.
* Assist in the training and supervision of junior members of the team.
* Ensure that clients receive an efficient and proactive service, and client expectations are exceeded throughout the year.
* Liaising with Clients, Partners, and other S&W staff where appropriate to ensure all are kept up to date with relevant issues.
* Assisting in the preparation of proposals for new work, and development of opportunities for S&W with current clients; assist with embedding new clients into S&W and within the client and staff portfolio.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should
* Qualified accountant (ACCA, ACA, CA).
* Significant experience in an accountancy practice preparing year end accounts, management accounts, and VAT returns.
* Proven experience of working with entrepreneurial, OMB and SME clients.
* An appetite for business development activities such as preparation of proposal documents and demonstrable working knowledge of accounting standards.
* Ability to pro-actively monitor costs against budget for individual clients with proven project management skills.
* Strong communication skills to liaise with clients, Directors, Partners, and colleagues with strong organisation and time management skills to ensure needs of all are met.
