We are seeking an outstanding primary school teacher to join our team at the Saint Louis School Caviglia campus in the south of Milan. Passionate about teaching and learning, you will be looking for a new role in a growing and ambitious school and keen to develop your craft as a creative and innovative classroom practitioner. Applications are particularly welcome from teachers with an interest in visual arts and who would be keen to deliver some specialist art lessons across the upper primary classes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Be a home room teacher in our Primary team, looking after not only students’ academic progress but also their pastoral care and wellbeing
* Plan and teach engaging, ambitious lessons, with a focus on both skills and subject knowledge
* Ensure that lessons are differentiated to meet the needs of individual students including additional challenge or support as required
* Track and monitor student progress using both formative and summative assessment strategies to boost progress, and activate interventions where necessary
* Identify up to date, relevant resources needed to support learning and teaching, and working to embed, develop and refine these for the benefit of students
* Contributing to departmental, phase level and whole school improvement including reviewing and updating the curriculum, methods of learning & teaching, schemes of work and assessments.
* A willingness to engage in school-based, external and independent Professional Learning including curricular developments
* Ensuring high levels of achievement and attainment through high expectations, collegiate working, effective communication, and quality learning and teaching.
* Monitoring and recording pupil progress and reporting in line with school policies.
* Contributing voluntarily to interdisciplinary learning initiatives within the school
* Arranging and regularly refreshing effective displays of pupil work both in classrooms and around the school
* Willingness to liaise closely with library, Student Support and other Primary colleagues to facilitate positive collaborations and broaden the opportunities for students
* Excellent time-management and organisational skills, including the meeting of all whole school and class deadlines.
* Being fully involved in the wider life of the school, including the running of extra-curricular clubs and study sessions
* Supporting the Primary team with organisation of / participation in field trips, entering national competitions and awards, so ensuring the best possible range of experiences for our children
* Positively representing the the school in person and online, to parents, visitors, the community and other schools within the immediate locale and beyond
* Undertaking any other reasonable duty assigned by the Principal, Head of Primary or Senior Deputy
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE:
* Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in education or a Bachelor’s degree plus PGCE or other relevant teaching qualification
* Established teaching experience in a range of educational settings, including the English National Curriculum
* Genuine interest in developing a best in class programme and the interpersonal skills to implement this
* High professional standards and a dedication to excellence across all aspects of school life
* Confident, articulate communication skills
* A positive and flexible approach to school life
* Resilience and determination
* Experience of and willingness to engage in quality assurance processes for continuous improvement
* Strong interest in the visual arts, and a willingness to teach art across the Primary range is an advantage but not essential
* Some ability to speak Italian is desirable although not essential
* Enjoyment and genuine interest in working with and learning from students aged 4 - 11
