Administrative Officer H&I Job Summary You will undertake an extensive induction and training programme and receive ongoing development to support you in your role and achieving your career ambitions. You will come into contact with staff who have a vast range of experience both in the Clinical field and the administrative field. Main duties of the job In this role you will be required to: Provide efficient and effective administrative support to the Histocompatability & Immunogenetics (H&I) Department to facilitate the timely provision of H&I diagnostic services ensuring procedures in relation to donors and patients are carried out to the highest possible standard. Work as an active team member assisting with a comprehensive range of administrative duties/procedures as dictated by the workload of the Department. Communicate with other NHSBT departments and external contacts as required. Maintain strict confidentiality at all times and ensure that information relating to patients and donors is kept in a manner in accordance with NHSBT policies & procedures. Undertake data entry ensuring all records are up to date and accurate. Receive and make telephone calls. Occasionally deal with queries and requests for information from members of the public. Undertake routine correspondence. Maintain manual and electronic filing systems. Undertake general office duties for example photocopying and scanning documents, minute taking. About You Experience and Knowledge Experience of working with information technology using Microsoft Office packages (Word, Excel and PowerPoint), or equivalent Systems. Competent in keyboard use, for example this might be achieved through regular use to input and update data. Ability to work in a busy office environment, using office equipment (eg photocopier, scanner), handling conflicting deadlines and priorities. Qualifications and Training Minimum of GCSE grade C or above including English and Maths or equivalent qualification / experience. Demonstrates commitment to own continuous learning and development.
