Part Time, Term Time
Working hours: 10am-3pm, Monday-Friday, 39 weeks per year, 195 days a year as per school’s term dates
Salary: Grade 2 NJCJE Pt. 3-5, Actual Salary £15,823 to £16,300 (Term Time Only)
Contract: Permanent
Learning Support Assistants make the education of their students their first concern, and are key to the students achieving the highest possible outcomes.

The main responsibilities for the post are to:
1. Support students with their socio-emotional engagement with learning and promote independence in a safe environment.
2. Work collaboratively as part of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure the best outcomes for each student.
3. Promote the inclusion of all students, so that all have equal opportunities to feel included and to contribute to school life.
4. Support class teachers to create a supportive and relaxed working environment that makes students feel happy and secure.
5. Implement the positive behaviour approaches set out by the school, including Restorative Practice and Zones of Regulation.
A good understanding of behaviour as communication, attachment theory, SEMH needs in the classroom, and theory underlying nurture provision are ideal for any professional working in our school.

Previous school experience is not essential and applications are encouraged from those with transferable skills from similar sectors such as early years or adult social care.
For the post advertised, you must:
* Be able to meet key accountabilities set out in Job Description
* Have experience and/or transferable skills in this area
* Have good organisational skills
* Have good communication skills
* Work in accordance with relevant occupational standards, knowledge/skills and the agreed local competency framework at Abbot’s Lea School.
* Complete a common core programme of induction for working with children
