Job Responsibilities
In conjunction with the Room Manager, provide overall management for Writtle Green Pre-school, ensuring legal requirements and quality standards are met at all times, and to provide ongoing supervision and support for the pre-school staff.
Candidate Attributes
1. The successful applicant must hold a full and relevant qualification at level 3 or above.
2. Be pro-active and able to work on own initiative.
3. Ability to remain calm under pressure.
4. Experience of effective staff management and objective setting, performance management, etc., and be able to support the development of the team.
5. Ability to prioritise and plan.
6. Be able to communicate with staff, children, and parents in an effective manner, establishing rapport with them and with all professionals the preschool comes into contact with.

Information about the School
Writtle Green preschool is a registered charity, number 1023360. The charity has a committee of Trustees who are registered with Ofsted. Last inspection was September 2024, graded good, registration 650172.
The preschool is open to children aged 2-4 years, from 8.30am to 2.45pm, and operates term time only (same term dates as the infant & junior schools in Writtle with whom we enjoy a close relationship).
Our purpose-built home is within The Beryl Platt community centre which was completed and opened in September 2020. We have a large dedicated, secure outdoor play area, laid mainly to Astro turf. An area is also set aside for storytelling/gardening. There is a mud kitchen, large sand pit, music den, climbing equipment, reading den, and the popular race track.
We have a maximum of 18 places/morning session and currently have a waiting list (19 in the afternoon session for children aged 3 years +).
