About The working hours are Monday to Friday 11:45am - 1:45pm, term-time only equivalent to 38 weeks a year. Job Purpose Ruskin Junior School School are looking to appoint a hardworking and reliable catering assistant to join our happy and friendly team. You will work 11:45am - 1:45pm Monday to Friday during term time and will be responsible for helping prepare and serve meals to the children and cleaning the kitchen and preparation area. The successful applicant will: Be able to manage time effectively to complete tasks to a high level Take pride in a job well done Enjoy working within a team Treat children and staff with courtesy and respect, whilst ensuring a safe, clean environment adhering to food safety regulations Duties will include: Food preparation as directed by the Catering Manager Serving food Operate kitchen equipment following training Follow food hygiene and safety regulations Undertake cleaning and washing up Monitoring and maintaining of records of daily fridge and freezer and food temperature in accordance with Food Hygiene Regulations and Health & Safety Maintaining kitchen cleanliness In return, we can offer you a happy, friendly working environment with training and support. Applicants need to be reliable and punctual, flexible in their approach to daily tasks with a positive attitude and the ability to work well under pressure and in a team. Former experience as a catering assistant would be an advantage, but training can be provided if necessary.
