Senior Planning Technician The role of Senior Planning Technician, will involve the direct supervision of a team of Planning Technicians. Organising the delivery of all aspects of the Planning validation service, ensuring all legislative requirements are always adhered too, including managing the appeals and committee service provisions. With a continued evaluating and assessment of improvements and change requirements within the service, through the interpretation of various legislative changes, its impact on future service requirement changes and training. Ensuring all outcomes will meet the Cheshire East enhanced customer service delivery requirements. The postholder will be expected to have the ability to attend our offices at either Crewe or Macclesfield as necessary, with the opportunity to also undertake home working on a number of days of the week. You will play an integral part within our Business Support operation, managing and supporting a team of staff who validate Planning applications for Cheshire East Council. The role will require you to be focused and hands on, monitoring performance to meet various service demands and KPI Targets. Alongside taking the lead on reviewing legislation changes and their associated impacts on potential service delivery, leading to any implementation of training and process changes as necessary for the team to operate within. The role will provide you with a great opportunity to utilise a diverse range of skills including: Evaluating the service provision to meet new legislative changes Monitoring team performance and developing strategies for change/improvement to maximise best use of resources, systems and processes; Implementing training plans and supporting staff in future development; Liaising with Planning staff to meet the greater needs of the service. Collaboration with the Systems Support Officer to ensure visions and aspirations for the future are achieved. Developing excellent time management and problem solving skills.
