Multimodal Freight Operator Job Overview
My client is a 3rd generation family-owned business with over 30 years of experience within the UK market, giving them the knowledge and skills to provide their customers with excellent service in European road freight, global sea and air freight, as well as Customs clearance.
The successful candidate will have good planning and problem-solving skills, be able to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines, and be logical with good organisational skills. They should also be able to work accurately, pay attention to detail, and work well under pressure.
Responsibilities include:
1. Taking bookings and liaising with customers, suppliers, and other parties.
2. Coordinating the importation and/or exportation via road and ports.
3. Building strong working relationships with transportation/haulage companies.
4. Developing and maintaining relationships to ensure a high level of customer service is provided to clients with knowledge of the client's business requirements.
5. Taking requests and queries and resolving them effectively and efficiently.
6. Using internal systems to create documentation that will enable freight to be moved to customer specifications, on time, with all the necessary customs and legal documentation.
7. Creating and updating freight bookings.
8. Understanding Customs documentation and procedures to ensure the freight can move from country to country.
9. Collating all documents and distributing them to customers and carriers as required.
10. Accurate & timely reporting.
Multimodal Freight Operator Job Requirements
1. Export procedures experience.
2. Experience in road freight.
3. Experience in booking and arranging transport with haulage companies nationally and internationally.
4. Experience in quoting clients.
5. Experience in creating, checking, and processing all relevant importation or exportation documentation.
6. Good verbal and written communication skills to provide a professional image to customers and suppliers.
7. The ability to instruct a global network of agents and suppliers.
8. The ability to prioritise a large number of tasks to ensure accuracy and deliver results with great attention to detail and a high sense of urgency.
9. Daily exposure to TMS, CRM, ERP software as well as MS applications.
Multimodal Freight Operator Salary & Benefits
£30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year (negotiable depending on experience)
