We currently have an exciting and rewarding opportunity available for an experienced Housing Support Worker to join our team within Cardiff. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting young people aged 16 to 21 living in supported accommodation. Building resilience to confidently allow young persons to go forward to achieve their outcomes and manage a tenancy independently in line with Housing Support Grant Outcomes.
This is a permanent role working 36 hours per week.
You will need a full, current driving licence and use of a vehicle.

What you'll do
This is a challenging, demanding, but rewarding role for the right person. You will be supporting young people who may have complex support issues and can challenge services. You will be supporting young people who may have experienced or be affected by ACEs, trauma, PTSD, or have faced other difficulties within their short lives. You will be expected to work within a psychologically informed environmental framework, working in a trauma-informed way. Supporting young persons with their agreed person-centered support plan goals in regard to education, employment, budgeting, and practical necessary skills and knowledge is key to supporting them to achieve their outcomes and manage a tenancy independently.
What you'll need
To be successful in this role, you will have experience of supporting individuals with varying complex support needs. You will need excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to relate to and build supportive relationships. Experience of working in a psychologically/trauma-informed way, and experience of supporting people affected by ACEs and those with mental health issues would be advantageous within this role.
A qualification in Social Care or related discipline is desirable but not essential.
