We have ambitious and exciting growth plans for the retail (and UK commercial) part of our business. We are looking for someone with deep retail reserving knowledge to join the team (in either Bristol or London).
Our UK actuarial practice is a large team with a strong and exciting growth trajectory.
* Award winning actuarial team (Insurance ERM Actuarial team of the Year 2021, The Times Actuarial Graduate Employer of Choice 2021).
* Our actuarial team is seen as the heartbeat of the EY Insurance team and key to unlocking new work for the sector.
* Growing Bristol and Retail is a core part of our overall strategy to build on the significant investment from the EY firm to support UK Retail.
* Our Motor and Household Seminars provide insights and are noted by the retail market as a differentiator.
* There are significant opportunities linked to pricing, actuarial transformation, claims and wider analytics.
* EY have a market leading transformation practice in Retail insurance.
* This growth is supported by a mature portfolio of annuity reserving / Audit revenue from the wider non-life actuarial team.
The opportunity
This is an opportunity to help lead the retail team within EY as retail becomes a growing part of our business. It is a chance to shape the growth of the team whilst benefitting from being part of a wider, established actuarial team.
Your key responsibilities
* Lead teams to manage the delivery and reporting of complex projects.
* Present to clients at senior executive and board levels.
* Lead the development of meaningful propositions and thought leadership for clients.
* Assist in responding to varied client proposals.
* Develop strong relationships with peers across other teams within EY and our clients.
* Create a positive learning culture, developing and supporting the team through effective supervising, coaching, and mentoring.
Skills and attributes for success
* Deep knowledge of the UK retail sector.
* Strong client management skills.
* Ability to identify and manage risks on assignments.
* Dedication combined with a desire to collaborate.
* Development of intellectual property to support client interaction.
To qualify for the role you must have
* Significant actuarial experience in UK retail insurance.
* Strong academic record including a degree and professional actuarial qualifications.
* Deep experience covering at least two specific areas of actuarial practice.
* A track record of managing actuarial projects and team members.
