Job Title: Data Centre Supervisor

Location: Based at Hemel Hempstead Data Centre.
Purpose of the Job:
Providing leadership, management, and development of the engineering contract team, ensuring operational commitments are met and the contract is fully compliant with all aspects of the contract including but not limited to QHSE and Compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for the completion of PPM and reactive works across Southern Data Centre.
2. Provide supervision to site engineers and ensure that contractual commitments are met, ensuring compliance with all companies/clients policies.
3. Ensure contracts are staffed by fully competent teams who understand the required standards they must adhere to.
4. Assist the management team to deliver the best-in-class service which is customer-focused within all areas of operational activities.
5. Act as the first point of contact and support for the engineering teams, providing leadership, guidance, advice, coaching, and direct support where required to deliver best practice, training, assessment, and recognition/reward.
6. Liaise with partners for quotations/surveys for remedial and maintenance.
7. Ensure maintenance is carried out in line with H&S procedures, using the SSOW (safe systems of work) where required and action improvements identified during the building and workplace inspections and reviews.
8. Respond to work interruptions, outages, or emergencies consistent with the SLA.
9. Support critical environment related technical audits as required and directed by line management.
10. Raise recommendations for improvements through line management.
11. The role could involve working across the client's estate if needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. Technical Administration SOP / EOP / MOP & Switching schedules (CWP), Implementation of CRQ's.
2. Site procurement - Finance / Quotes / Small Works & SPOC project Lead.
3. Site Compliance Lead - Internal & External Audits (AGM/QHSE/Legionella/Environmental) & responsible for actioning Fire Risk Assessment, Legionella Risk Assessment, Noise Risk Assessment.
4. Site Shield Lead - Quantum / CDNA / CCAM / Human Factors / DCS Select.
5. Site Ekkosense Champion - Responsible for continued EkkoSense site performance.
Accountabilities:
1. Reporting to the Technical Manager.
2. Working hands-on supervision to assist the teams when and where needed.
3. On-call for escalation OOH and local site issues.
4. Create an audit-ready environment and ensure compliance is met in all areas.
5. Accountability to the company's Functional heads.
6. Accountable day-to-day to the relevant client.
7. Line management responsibility for the engineering team and indirectly for relevant sub-contractors.
8. No Purchase and Ledger Responsibility for the contract, but should be financially aware and able to produce basic quotations for works. Assisting in CAPEX & OPEX management and forecasting of financials.
Experience Required:
1. Understanding of Health and Safety requirements and ability to supervise others on all aspects of day-to-day health and safety.
2. Experience in critical change management processes and working in a critical environment.
3. Electrical City & Guilds C&G 2365 Level 3 Electrical Qualification & 18th Edition Electrical Wiring Regulations as a minimum.
4. Mechanical qualifications or ability to demonstrate good mechanical understanding.
5. Team working and experience in customer-facing situations, with good communication skills and computer literacy.
6. Experience in managing sub-contractors, running permit to work systems, and being accountable for others' safety.
7. Flexible working with the ability to manage own workloads with little supervision. Good commercial knowledge and knowledge of contract cost control.
8. Must have a clean driving license.
9. Good working knowledge of Data Centres and experience in supervising a team, including managing shift rotas and approval of holidays/training.
10. Knowledge of emergency response / standby/ call-out activities.
11. LVAP / HVAP knowledge.
Desirable Experience Required:
1. Health and Safety qualifications (IOSH/NEBOSH).
2. First Aid certification.

Terms and Conditions:
Salary Offer: £48k dependent on experience
Overtime: Rate 1.5 and double time
On Call: 1:4 (£1300PA)
Vehicle Supplied: When on call
Working hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday 08:00 to 17:00 per day.
