Pre-Construction Manager
Location: Manchester
Contract Length: Permanent
Salary: Negotiable, depending on experience
Salter Grange have been requested to recruit for a skilled and experienced Pre-Construction Manager to lead the pre-construction phase of a new student accommodation project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent planning skills, and the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders. This role will also involve responsibility for managing the gateway process to ensure all project phases are completed successfully.
Main responsibilities:
1. Lead the pre-construction phase, including planning, design coordination, budgeting, and scheduling
2. Manage the gateway process, ensuring all necessary approvals and documentation are obtained at each project stage
3. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other stakeholders to develop and refine project plans and specifications
4. Prepare detailed cost estimates and budgets, ensuring all financial targets are met
5. Develop and manage project schedules, ensuring all pre-construction activities are completed on time
6. Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies to address potential issues
7. Coordinate with procurement teams to ensure timely acquisition of materials and services
8. Oversee the preparation of all necessary documentation, including permits and approvals
9. Provide regular updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders
Requirements:
1. Proven experience as a Pre-Construction Manager or similar role in the construction industry
2. Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal regulations
3. Experience managing the gateway process in construction projects
4. Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
