Our client is a leading international developer of utility scale onshore wind, solar, and battery storage technologies.
The UK team currently has a key requirement for a Grid Connection Manager to support the identification and delivery of successful grid connection outcomes for their onshore wind, solar, and storage portfolio across the UK.
This is an office/hybrid role based in Glasgow or Edinburgh.
Role
* Reporting to the UK Grid Connection Manager, manage the identification and delivery of optimal grid connection outcomes for utility-scale wind, solar and storage projects across the UK.
* Liaise with network operators (DNOs /TNOs /NESO) to optimise grid connection solutions, maximise project value and mitigate connection risks.
* Manage grid connection application process and queue management process.
* Support the optimisation of project connection design and cost, including connection feasibility, design optioneering and delivery model assessment.
* Ensure project designs meet technical grid code compliance requirements, liaising with the relevant specialists.
* Review any network restrictions or curtailment analysis to assess the export constraints over the life span of a specific scheme.
Requirements
* Degree in relevant technical subject.
* Previous experience in a technical or project management role related to grid connections for electricity projects, ideally wind, solar, or BESS.
* Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders, network operators, and grid consultants.
* Broad understanding of electrical power systems and high-level power system design.
* Familiarity with grid connection process and related electricity regulations.
* Understanding of grid charging and transmission cancellation charges.
