Principle Control System Engineer
About the Role:
We are working with a global engineering leader, renowned for their innovative solutions, to recruit an experienced Principle Control System Engineer to join their team in Essex.
This is an exciting opportunity to work with a respected brand that values innovation and excellence.
Your Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, and test advanced PLC, HMI, and SCADA systems, creating essential technical documentation.
* Collaborate with customers and internal teams on Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), commissioning systems on various vessels globally.
* Lead Harbour and Sea Acceptance Trials, overseeing projects from design to customer handover, working closely with cross-functional teams remotely and on-site.
* Attend meetings with customers and internal teams, providing expertise in system design, documentation, and troubleshooting.
* Drive innovation by contributing to the development of new products, ensuring they meet the highest standards.
* Adhere to project schedules set by the Systems Engineering Manager, playing a crucial role in delivering cutting-edge engineering solutions.
Your Requirements:
* Degree or HNC in Electronic Engineering or Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
* Expertise in PLC and SCADA systems, strong skills in PLC programming, especially using IEC 61131-3 languages.
* Proficiency in controls, automation, and electrical system integration, ensuring high-performance systems that meet customer needs.
* Solid understanding of P&ID drawings and experience with CAD software such as Visio or E-Plan Electric P8.
* Familiarity with industrial communication protocols, including Modbus, Canbus, and Profibus, to enhance system connectivity.
* A proven ability to lead projects and work collaboratively in a team environment, showing initiative to operate independently.
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to navigate complex challenges and make informed decisions.
