How You Make a Difference
The Assistant Mental Health Director oversees the provision of mental health services within our facilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage teams of psychologists and Qualified Mental Health Professionals across the prison system, ensuring recruitment, training, and supervision meet contractual standards.
* Participate in meetings with the ADC and system-wide Continuous Quality Improvement initiatives.
* Lead case conferences for inmates with special needs, including management, hospital transitions, and release planning.
* Provide administrative supervision to psychiatrists, clinical nurse specialists, Qualified Examiners, and Community Access Board members, ensuring proper documentation and treatment planning.
* Manage all aspects of mental health services, including outpatient programs, residential treatment, behavioral units, forensic evaluation, and civil commitments.
Additional Details
Qualified applicants must hold one of the following licenses: LPC, LCSW, or Psychologist. Preferred candidates will have experience in clinical and administrative supervision, strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, collaboration abilities, and strong communication skills. Ability to independently organize and implement mental health programming is essential.

Qualifications & Requirements
Education
* Masters in clinical or counseling psychology or social work from an accredited institution.
Experience
* At least five years of progressively responsible management experience in behavioral health services of similar scope and complexity.
* Experience in correctional behavioral health is preferred.
Licenses/Certifications
* Designated Qualified Mental Health Professional as per state requirements.
