We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced practice nurse to join our friendly team of forward thinking General Practice Staff.
The role allows part time working and has some flexibility in the hours worked and will allow the candidate to maintain an effective work life balance.
Main duties of the job
Diabetes and other chronic disease management and travel vaccinations would be advantageous.
The position advertised will involve undertaking all the standard duties of a practice nurse. This includes wound care, immunisations (both adult/child), travel immunisations, and Cervical Smears if trained.

Job responsibilities
1. To manage patients with chronic disease, running specific clinic sessions and maintaining robust call and recall systems.
2. Participate in national screening work such as cervical cytology and deliver the national immunisation and vaccination schedule.
3. Treat patients with minor injuries.
4. Provide directly and assist GPs with contraceptive services.
5. Act as chaperone when required.
6. Undertake health promotion to help educate patients.
7. To maintain accurate patient records and enter onto the computer using agreed Read Codes.
8. Ensure accurate completion of all necessary documentation associated with patient health care.
9. To collect data and participate in regular practice audit and research projects.
10. To contribute to the preparation of any practice development plans.
11. To maintain own annual registration with the NMC and adhere to the Code of Professional Conduct.
12. To promote a professional approach at all times by attire and attitude to patients and staff both in and out of the practice.
13. To maintain own continuous professional development and ensure PDP kept up-to-date in line with the requirements of the practice.
14. Attend and participate in staff and practice meetings and in-house clinical training sessions.

Qualifications
* RGN Qualification with current NMC Registration.
* Experience in Primary Care/Community Care.
* Experienced in chronic disease management.
* Up to date experience in childhood immunisations.
* Knowledge of System1.
* Cervical Smears.
* Travel Health.
