This position supports our Village Manager in overseeing daily activities, managing staff, and maintaining high standards of care and service for our residents. The Deputy Manager is essential in fostering a welcoming and supportive environment, addressing residents' needs promptly, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Their leadership and dedication help create a vibrant, safe, and comfortable home for our residents, making them an invaluable part of our team. You’ll help us make health happen by: Oversee and support heads of departments in their delivery of their quarterly objectives Work with the Heads of Departments to ensure that the facilities, environment and grounds meet the specification and standards expected by our residents and health and safety Ensure the village meets all regulatory and statutory requirements including fire, health and safety, COSHH, RIDDOR, employment and compliance with the appropriate Acts Prepare and present proposals for improvement to the Village Manager and deliver changes in an appropriate manner when approved. Be the first point of escalation for our customers, supporting Heads of Departments in taking corrective actions and driving improvement Proactively seek feedback from residents about services and suggestions about village improvements Support Heads of Departments with preparation of strategic proposals to develop and improve services considering daily operational and customer feedback To maintain and nurture a good relationship with all residents, families and customers of the business Assist with the regular communication to residents on updates and company briefings You’ll work closely with management across the different departments including our Clinical Lead and Care Home Manager, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care, hospitality and support services Nurture long term relationships with residents - their friends and family, customers and external organisations (e.g. CQC) You’ll lead by example, interacting and communicating effectively with both our customer base and with the wider community Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role: Ideally, you’ve had previous experience as a Deputy Manager or experience of leading teams within a large hospitality or care setting and be willing or already working towards your level 5 leadership and management. You must be comfortable making decisions and you are someone who sees the bigger picture and is confident challenging current processes and influencing others to challenge their own thinking. You’re a change agent with experience leading teams on a journey of continuous improvement. Excellent communication skills with an ability to adapt your style to meet the varying needs of internal and external stakeholders.
