If the answer is yes to these questions, we would love to hear from you. A new, exciting opportunity has arisen at Somerset County Cricket Club, to join our Professional Cricket department. We are looking to recruit a Performance Psychology Lead. You will provide comprehensive performance psychology support across Somerset CCC Men’s and Women’s cricket programmes, enhancing players’ mental resilience, performance, and overall well-being. You’ll also provide strategic oversight, practical delivery, and collaborate with coaches, support staff, and external partners to ensure psychological aspects are seamlessly integrated into all training and development programmes. Amongst other essential criteria, you'll need to have a current registration with the HCPC as a Sports and Exercise Psychologist. You’ll have extensive experience working in elite team sport, including major tournaments and events, and significant experience working within a multidisciplinary team and delivering both group and individual work. You will have experience delivering performance psychology and leading initiatives related to performance psychology and culture within elite sporting pathways. Alongside this, you will have training in psychology profiling tools, and expertise in brain development and its role in player development and evaluation of talent. You will have excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working. You’ll maintain high professional standards and have a drive for excellence in everything you do. Given the nature of the role, any appointment is subject to a satisfactory enhanced DBS check. If no ECB DBS is already in place, this check will be carried out by the Club.
