Job Description
The Home Care team is looking for enthusiastic, motivated Community Care Assistant who enjoys working with older people to join our supportive and well-integrated health and social care team. You will undertake a range of tasks including Package of care reviews, supporting the other team members and social workers with practical tasks to support older people living in their own homes
The work of the team is varied and underpinned by a person-centred approach. The work involves multi-agency liaison and the ability to establish effective working relationships across the Health and Social Care Partnership, partner agencies and 3rd sector organisations such as Vocal and The Red Cross.
Jobholders should hold an SVQ2 in Care or related discipline and hold a current driving license. Experience working in a home care service would be advantageous.

Working Pattern: Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm

Please note that it is Midlothian Council’s policy that successful applicants will be appointed to the first point on the salary scale.
Based on 36 hours over 52 weeks per year, the minimum actual salary for this position is £30,243.53 per annum.
Responsibilities
This post is considered Regulated Work with Protected Adults, under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act, 2007. Therefore, it is an offence to apply if you are barred from working with protected adults.
Successful candidates will require PVG Scheme membership for PVG Scheme membership for Regulated Work with Adults. You will be required to join the Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to commencing employment with Midlothian Council, the cost of which will be met by the council.
