Job Description Mechanical Plant Engineer Full Time Thurso An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Plant Engineer to join the team in Rolls-Royce Submarines in Thurso. Thurso is is situated in the historical county of Caithness and is the northernmost town in the UK where we have successfully operated and managed the Vulcan Naval Reactor Test Establishment for the last 50 years on behalf of the Ministry of Defence. The Mechanical Plant Engineer will manage and take responsibility for, the completion of tasks in accordance with site processes and procedures such as Works Control Process, HS&E Control Standard requirements, Vulcan Standing Orders, Engineering Standing Instructions and Health Physics Procedures. What you will be doing To support planned maintenance and defect investigation of existing plant and equipment. To manage installation, testing and commissioning of modifications to existing and/or new plant and equipment, in accordance with the Site Modification Process. To manage, and to prepare work packs to control the completion of work packages, such as Manufacturing Plans, Work Instructions, Work Orders, Risk Assessments, relevant permits. To assist in the planning, prioritisation and resourcing of tasks in the Department to meet required deliverables. Manage the staff allocated to the completion of the task, to ensure compliance with the work pack requirements and ensure tasks are successfully completed to programme with the correct quality control records. Support the off-site programme of works for Dockyard and RR Facilities tasks.
