Liverton Security is looking for a dynamic, well-rounded Senior Systems Engineer to provide infrastructure and technical assistance to Liverton Security and UK customers. This is a UK-based role and includes liaison with the New Zealand based technical services team. The predominant focus is the implementation and support of UK-based customers; however, some work supporting the New Zealand infrastructure will also be required.
The successful candidate MUST reside in the UK and be able to physically attend the Liverton Security UK office at Forbury Square, Reading, Berkshire, RG1 3EU, England.
Role:
* An excellent understanding of IT systems, networks, and Internet technologies.
* Strong methodical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills (Fluent English speaker).
* Strong attention to detail.
* Acting as the first responder to UK-based support calls.
* Provide clear, consistent ticket updates for clarity and future reference.
* Patching and system updates.
* Ability to work autonomously or as part of a small professional team.
* Review and update end user guides and documentation.
* A keen desire to get involved in many different aspects of IT and Internet technologies.
* A keen desire to learn.
Skills/knowledge required to do this role:
* Strong Linux (Ubuntu) Server implementation and support.
* Windows workstation support.
* DNS and TCP/IP.
* SMTP email (including S/MIME secure email).
* Firewall technologies.
* PC Hardware support.
* Public Key Infrastructure technologies.
* Specialist application installation and support.
* Strong (3+ years’) system support experience.
