We are looking for a Visual Merchandiser to take ownership of our showroom and exhibition displays, ensuring our products are presented in a way that maximises sales, enhances customer engagement, and reflects our premium brand.
This role requires significant on-site presence across multiple retail locations and exhibition venues, therefore a full UK driving licence is essential. The successful candidate must be comfortable with frequent travel, hands-on involvement in showroom layouts, and building strong relationships with sales teams and customers. A company vehicle will be provided for on-site work, and bonus incentives will be available based on performance.
Role Overview
As a Visual Merchandiser, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining high-quality displays across our retail branches and exhibitions. You will lead a small team responsible for the physical setup and execution of visual merchandising, ensuring consistency and high standards across all locations. You will work closely with sales teams, marketing, and senior management to align displays with seasonal promotions, product launches, and brand identity.
A key part of the role will involve engaging with customers, sales teams, and stakeholders to monitor how visual merchandising influences customer behaviour, making adjustments where necessary. Strong relationship-building and communication skills are essential, as you will be working collaboratively with various teams to maximise the impact of our showroom and exhibition presentations.
Key Responsibilities
• Showroom & Exhibition Presentation: Maintain and enhance the visual appeal of our garden room and hot tub displays across all locations and external exhibitions.
• Plan & Execute Displays: Develop and implement visual merchandising strategies that improve customer experience and drive sales.
• On-Site Implementation: Be physically present at branches and exhibitions, overseeing and executing visual merchandising installations.
• Team Management: Lead and coordinate a small team responsible for setting up and maintaining displays, ensuring efficiency and high standards.
• Brand Consistency: Ensure all displays align with our brand image, product positioning, and seasonal marketing campaigns.
• Customer Engagement Monitoring: Observe and assess how customers interact with displays, making recommendations to improve engagement and conversion.
• Sales Optimisation: Work with sales teams to analyse customer behaviour and adjust layouts to maximise conversions.
• Building Relationships: Develop strong working relationships with sales teams, ensuring they understand and support merchandising initiatives.
• Stock Management: Coordinate with procurement to ensure the right products and accessories are available for effective merchandising.
• Promotional Setups: Create engaging point-of-sale displays for key sales periods, product launches, and promotions.
• Exhibition Displays: Design and oversee the layout and presentation of exhibition stands to maximise impact at trade shows and events.
• Trend Awareness: Stay up-to-date with industry trends and competitor displays to ensure we remain at the forefront of retail merchandising.
• Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with marketing, sales teams, and senior management to align visual merchandising with business objectives.
• Frequent Travel: Regularly visit branches and exhibitions across the South-East to ensure high-quality visual standards are maintained.
What We’re Looking For
• Proven experience as a Visual Merchandiser, Retail Designer, or similar role in a showroom, exhibition, or multi-site retail environment.
• Experience in managing and coordinating a small team for physical implementation of visual merchandising.
• Strong creative and design skills with an eye for detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with sales teams and customers.
• Outgoing and confident personality, comfortable engaging with different teams and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of consumer behaviour and how it influences in-store layouts and displays.
• Comfortable with frequent travel and physical, on-site work in a retail showroom environment.
• Ability to monitor customer engagement with displays and make informed recommendations for improvements.
• Excellent organisational and time management skills to manage multiple locations efficiently.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with various teams.
• Strong understanding of branding, visual storytelling, and customer experience.
• Experience in garden buildings, outdoor living, or home improvement retail is desirable but not essential.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between branches and exhibitions.
