Job summary Band 5 - Directorate Support Manager - MSK (Rheumatology & Pain Management An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Directorate Support Manager for MSK. The role will provide an excellent development opportunity for an individual who is keen to progress into an operational role within the NHS secondary care environment. The responsibilities of the position will cover supporting the Service Manager with the day to day running of the department across all sites (St Richard, Southlands and Worthing hospital). This a cross site role therefore presence at all sites will be required. This role will involve directly liaising with clinical staff and the daily management of large secretarial admin teams within Pain Management and Rheumatology. Supporting the management team with the delivery of RTT and targets by liaising closely with booking teams, ensuring theatre and clinic capacity is efficiently utilised keeping patient experience at the heart of service delivery. This role would suit a proactive, adaptable individual who thrives in a dynamic environment. It requires an all round flexible team player who is equally comfortable working autonomously to manage tasks, responsibilities and collaborating effectively as part of a wider team. The ideal candidate will possess strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and contribute positively to team objectives. and travel between Hospital Sites. Main duties of the job The role is varied and involves close working relationships with the secretaries and administration support staff within MSK. In addition, the role will support all other aspect of administration including management of administrative staffing, clinic utilisation and RTT validation/performance reporting. The successful candidate will be required to possess excellent interpersonal skills along with a varied knowledge of a number of hospital IT systems. This role requires an excellent eye for detail, accuracy and you must be able to work to tight deadlines and at times under pressure.
