About Us:
G&E Group, a global executive search firm with offices in London, Leeds, Dubai, and Florida, is looking for an experienced legal professional to become our first-ever in-house Legal Counsel.
This is a rare opportunity to step into a broad and varied role, providing expert legal guidance across commercial contracts, corporate structuring, regulatory compliance, governance, and risk. You’ll work closely with senior leadership and play a key role in shaping the legal function from the ground up — no team to manage, just high-level influence, autonomy, and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Commercial: Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including client terms, supplier agreements, licensing contracts, and service agreements, ensuring they align with company policies and legal requirements.
2. Corporate: Oversee the establishment of new legal entities, including preparing and filing necessary documentation, and provide ongoing legal support for corporate restructuring initiatives.
3. Governance: Identify and mitigate legal risks by developing and implementing company policies and procedures. Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations, including data protection, anti-bribery, and corporate governance standards.
4. Regulatory Compliance: Stay updated on changes in the law and new legislation, in particular that directly affect the business and industry, ensuring that the company remains compliant.
5. Training and Development: Design and deliver legal training to staff, promoting best practices in legal compliance and risk management throughout the company.
6. External Coordination: Liaise with external legal counsel, regulatory bodies, and other third-party organisations as necessary to represent and protect the company's legal interests.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Qualified solicitor with a minimum of 8 years of post-qualification experience.
2. Knowledge of and proven experience in the following areas of law: Corporate Law, Commercial Contracts, Employment, and Data Protection.
3. Strong understanding of corporate governance and the associated structuring of multi-jurisdictional businesses.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex legal matters to non-legal personnel.
5. Experience of dealing with senior stakeholders including C-Suite.
6. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with keen attention to detail.
7. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
8. Knowledge of employment law.
9. Experience of handling litigation would be advantageous.
What We Offer:
1. Competitive salary and benefits package (£75,000-£100,000 DOE)
2. A supportive and dynamic work environment.
3. The chance to play a key role in the growth and success of the company.
4. Great Benefits (including PMI, private pension scheme, Birthday off, 25 days holiday etc)
