Our client is a leading building services company, urgently seeking an experienced commercial combustion engineer to cover London and the home counties. Applicants must live within easy reach of London, preferably within or just outside the M25.
Job Summary
A mobile commercial combustion engineer to join a heating team within an HVAC Services business unit. The Heating team operates and maintains hundreds of sites across London and the home counties, serving a variety of public and private organizations.
Description of the Role
The role of the commercial combustion engineer includes but is not limited to the following:
1. Ensure routine services, maintenance, and repairs are carried out correctly.
2. Use and understand a CAFM system.
3. Deliver planned preventative maintenance to schedule.
4. Assist with technical issues on-site, providing technical support.
5. Complete service reports accurately and within the contract timeline.
6. Produce quality reports and quotations.
7. Provide feedback to the team and management.
8. Build excellent working relationships with customers.
9. Communicate effectively with customers.
10. Manage and verify site assets for new and existing sites.
11. Work according to the Company operational handbook and policies.
12. Undertake Toolbox Talks.
13. Participate in an on-call rota.
Principal Duties & Responsibilities
Working on all types of boilers, burners, and heating assets, the engineer will:
1. Service with an optimisation and efficiency bias.
2. Coordinate on-site work activity for complex, multi-person jobs.
3. Diagnose and repair system malfunctions requiring specific technical knowledge.
4. Handle reactive call outs, troubleshooting, and resolving faults.
5. Produce quotations for additional works and repairs as required.
6. Oversee Health & Safety in line with client systems.
Qualifications
Required qualifications include:
1. Commercial Gas qualifications.
2. Gas Certification Scheme commercial card.
3. GasSafe Registration commercial card.
4. Minimum six years’ experience in the field.
5. A time-served apprenticeship.
6. A full UK driving licence is essential.
7. Proof of eligibility to work in the UK will be required.
Additional Information
Holiday: In addition to bank & public holidays, the Employee’s annual holiday entitlement is 23 days.
Hours of Work: 8:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Place of Work: Mobile, Customer sites.
Earnings: The annual salary is £53,000 to £55,000, based on experience. Overtime is regularly available, potentially adding £10,000 to £20,000 in extra income per year.
Contributory Pension: The client will contribute 4% of the Employee’s basic salary (not including bonus payment) to a personal pension plan through Scottish Widows.
Vehicle: A high spec commercial vehicle will be provided, including SatNav, automatic transmission, air conditioning, comfort seating, and tools racking, along with a fuel card.
