Your role and responsibilities As a Business Intelligence Officer, you will be supporting the Passenger Transport team with reporting and analysis. This includes: working with local bus operators to collect data about bus services to monitor the performance of sponsored bus services and the Enhanced Bus Partnership build reports from the data collected, resolving any issues with the data presenting findings at Enhanced Bus Partnership (EP) board meetings and publishing reports on our Suffolk on Board website working with our EP Marketing Manager to use your findings to drive marketing of public transport services in Suffolk working with the Bus Development Team to assess the effectiveness of the local bus network. This is a key opportunity to contribute to the development of the Suffolk bus network and encourage the people of Suffolk to try travelling by bus. You will need We hope you’ll bring: expertise on reporting, particularly using Microsoft Power BI and Excel excellent communication and negotiating skills an aptitude for working with figures and an innovative approach to presenting and analysing data our ideal candidate will also be enthusiastic about public transport and have an understanding of the bus network in Suffolk. We would appreciate the opportunity to consider your application. The team The Passenger Transport Team is part of the Growth, Highways and Infrastructure Directorate in Suffolk County Council. Made up of approximately 50 people, the team works to deliver safe, reliable, comfortable and cost-effective mainstream school transport, specialised transport for adults and students, and sponsored public bus services. Within the Passenger Transport Team, the Data and Finance Team and the Transport Development Teams work collaboratively to implement, publicise and monitor activities connected to our Enhanced Bus Partnership. This is an exciting new area of work with funding from the Department of Transport to support the partnership. We practice hybrid working and our office days are usually on Wednesdays and Fridays.
