Key Responsibilities:
Financial Management and Reporting:
* Oversee all financial operations, including month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and local statutory requirements.
* Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow forecasts.
* Manage the preparation of financial statements and liaise with external auditors.
Budgeting and Forecasting:
* Develop and maintain annual budgets and long-term financial forecasts.
* Conduct variance analysis and provide insights to support strategic decision-making.
Cash Flow Management:
* Monitor cash flow to ensure the company's financial health and stability.
* Manage funding requirements, including grants, equity, and debt financing.
Tax and Compliance:
* Ensure timely and accurate tax filings in accordance with UK and US regulations.
* Maintain compliance with corporate, VAT, and employment tax obligations.
Systems and Processes:
* Implement and optimize financial systems, controls, and processes to improve efficiency.
* Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support scalability.
Requirements:
Qualifications: ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent qualification.
Experience:
* Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience, preferably in biotech, pharmaceuticals, or start-up environments.
* Proven experience managing US GAAP reporting and compliance.
Technical Skills:
* Strong understanding of financial management systems and tools (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, or Xero).
Soft Skills:
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
* Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
