Here at EMIS, we are excited to share that we are currently recruiting for an Implementation Specialist to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
Our Implementation Specialists are subject matter and product experts that sit within our Transformation and Training team supporting EMIS products which are used across multiple healthcare settings. With the aim of ensuring our customers get the most from EMIS healthcare solutions to further improve patient care.

What you’ll do
You will be involved in the installation, upgrading, configuration, troubleshooting, and support of EMIS software applications, tools, and interfaces. You will collaborate with internal colleagues and customer representatives both remotely and on-site, often handling sensitive data during migration and synchronisation processes.
As part of a 20+ person Solution Delivery department, you’ll work autonomously based on priorities set by the Technical Services Manager. Coordination with various teams, including Support, Product Specialists, and Project Managers, is essential, as well as maintaining strong relationships with our customers.
Your responsibilities will include managing project tasks as outlined in the project plan, acting as the main point of contact for end users during the implementation phase, and ensuring effective communication and support throughout the project lifecycle.
Other key responsibilities and accountabilities will include:
* Manage, define, and deliver the local customisation of the software (within the project scope)
* To support customers and EMIS Health colleagues in UAT, installation, and issue resolution during the project life cycle
* To act as the primary technical lead and authority during a project life cycle
* To develop significant expertise in EMIS health applications, tools, and interfaces so as to better comprehend customer issues and therefore assess, test, and implement solutions.
* To participate in internal testing and process improvement workshops.
Who You’ll Be
* Excellent relationship building and stakeholder management skills to successfully work with a diverse customer base and different levels and departments inside the organisation IT literate, including Microsoft Office Suite and CRM systems
* Excellent communication skills at all levels, written, verbal, and self-presentation
* Ability to use initiative, problem-solving, and remain calm under pressure
* The ability to understand complex technical requirements and relay these to less technical teams
* Ability to demonstrate problem-solving techniques
* Ability to work confidently and effectively on-site and as part of a project team
Professional skills we are looking for you to demonstrate include:
* The ability to understand and troubleshoot SQL scripts and the ability to write SQL scripts to perform data migration/validation.
* Informix experience would be preferable
* An understanding of network-based interfacing with a focus on Interface communication types (TCP/IP) and HL7 and its standards.
* An understanding of HPUX & Linux Operating systems, security, and architecture that make them up with a particular focus on security, resilience, disaster recovery architecture, and shell scripting
