An exciting opportunity has arisen for a permanent Band 6 full time Senior Staff Nurse/ODP within Theatres and Endoscopy at the Belford Hospital.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and forward-thinking nurse/ODP to join our team. You will be committed to the delivery of quality patient care and providing support to the patients and staff within all areas of theatre. (Anaesthetics, scrub, recovery and Endoscopy).
You will undertake clinical and managerial duties as the workload requires and will deputise for the Senior Charge Nurse in their absence and support and supervise junior staff and students on placement.
Our working hours are Monday - Friday 08.30 -5.30 pm with an additional on call service providing overnight and weekend emergency cover.
You will need to be able to commit to participating in the on call rota overnight and at weekends. (1 in 4 rota)
Theatre experience is essential for this post. Previous Band 6 experience would be desirable but for the right post holder who has been working as a senior band 5 and is looking for that progression are welcome to apply.
Advanced Scrub Practitioner acting as 1st or 2nd surgical assistant across the operating theatre specialities, potentially 1-2 days per week or as service requires also welcome to apply.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
