Organise and manage their own caseload and work, plan their own diary. They will also be required to manage clinics. Analytics Have the ability to analyse the functions of challenging behaviours in complex situations within the individuals varying environments, in order to make recommendations where appropriate to inform future interventions. Lead on formative assessments, analyse and formulate needs. Provide high-quality clinical reports. Take part in the on-going evaluation of the post and advice / consultation model of service delivery. Participate in clinical or administrative audits as required. Responsibility for Patient Care, Treatment and Therapy Employ a flexible and creative use of verbal and non-verbal communication approaches to communicate and enable the understanding of complex information relating to diagnosis, gaining consent, assessment and treatment. Manage a caseload, and plan, organise and where appropriate clinically supervise junior members of the team to ensure delivery of a high quality service, meeting the complex and diverse needs of the identified population. Lead individual or group-based interventions. Adopt a person and 'family' centred public health approach that will seek to reduce risk and enhance health through delivery of needs led, high quality evidence-based care. Adapt, facilitate and delegate appropriate assessments in order to inform interventions to meet the health related needs and risk reduction/management of the individual, their 'family' and the environment. Offer evidence-based interventions which are adapted for young people. Where needs are beyond the remit of the role, they will make a referral to the appropriate service. Analyse the functions of challenging behaviours in complex situations within the individuals varying environments, in order to make recommendations where appropriate to inform future interventions. Identify the need for and facilitate referrals relevant to meeting the needs of the individual. Work in partnership with other health care providers, statutory, voluntary organisations and family/carers, to provide advice that promotes good health and well-being and prevents ill health of patients under the care of CAMHS. Develop and maintain a range of written information for children and young people, their families/carers, which is specifically designed with and for them. Contribute to Community Treatment Reviews or Community and Education Treatment Reviews where there is a risk of admission to psychiatric hospital for a child or young person. Policy, Service, Research and Development Responsibility Actively search for and promote awareness of health related needs and seek to facilitate health enhancing activities and influence policies that effect the health of the identified population. Participate as required with the delivery of appropriate induction to the service for new staff, students and temporary staff. Maintain their own professional development and mandatory training identifying learning needs in relation to specialist area of practice and fulfilling the requirements for nurse revalidation. Participate in clinical supervision for own clinical work. Responsibility for Finance Equipment and Other Resources Be expected to manage their expenses in an effective way and to support more junior and new members of the team in doing so. Responsibility for Supervision Leadership and Management Manage staff to ensure the delivery of a high-quality service, including appraisal and clinical supervision of junior staff. Identify existing or potential barriers in accessing services for young people and promote initiatives to overcome these barriers Provide a point of contact for consultation, professional advice, support and information for colleagues working with young people and their families/carers Be conversant with appropriate legislation, e.g. the Mental Health Act and best practice in relation to Mental Capacity Actively participate in an annual appraisal process including a review of the job plan and of the service, ensuring it meets the needs of the people with learning disabilities and/or autism and/or other additional needs. Promote the involvement of young people with a learning disability and/or autism and/or additional needs and their families in all aspects of care planning and delivery Information Resources and Administration Duties Facilitate an active learning environment for all staff and students, incorporating preceptorship, mentorship and induction programmes. Develop and deliver training and education to other professionals, pre/post registration students and inter-agency personnel.
