We are seeking a Project Manager to manage two 24-hour supported accommodation services for individuals with mental health needs in Chorlton. The role involves leading services that help residents develop skills and confidence for independent living, maintain wellbeing, and enjoy active lifestyles. We value empowerment, self-management, resilience, and respect for our service users.
The Role: As the Project Manager, you will oversee the service delivery, ensuring compliance with contract requirements and Manchester City Council (MCC) quality standards. Responsibilities include deploying staff according to individual needs, supervising and supporting staff and volunteers, responding to referrals, and conducting initial assessments. Regular person-centred reviews will be coordinated, and you’ll work closely with multi-disciplinary teams and community agencies to provide holistic support, maintain high environmental safety standards, and foster a welcoming atmosphere. Service user engagement and peer support will also be facilitated.
You’ll provide excellent customer care, proactively communicate with stakeholders about risk management and welfare, and uphold a strong ethical duty of care and commitment to safeguarding vulnerable individuals.
This role is ideal if you seek to utilize your mental health practitioner skills in a social care management career, while fostering meaningful relationships with service users and multi-disciplinary teams.
Qualities Required: Applicants must demonstrate warmth, compassion, and respect for service users, with the ability to engage in meaningful planning and therapeutic activities. Collaborative and professional working relationships with service users, families, and mental health professionals are essential. An up-to-date understanding of recovery principles and mental health legislation is required, along with knowledge of the MHA, MCA, DOLs, and care standards. You must ensure safe management and administration of medicines.
Candidates should be hardworking, resilient, reflective, and capable of accepting supervision and accountability. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with practical skills in planning and organizing care. Flexibility to work shifts on a rota system is necessary.
Applicants need at least two years of practitioner experience, with experience supervising/managing staff and resources. A relevant health or social care qualification (e.g., RMN/DipSW, degree, or Diploma Level 5) is essential. Candidates must be organized, professional, credible, and able to demonstrate leadership and management competencies.
