Fire Technician Job ID 188063 Posted 07-Oct-2024 Service line GWS Segment Role type Full-time Areas of Interest Engineering/Maintenance, Facilities Management Location(s) Cambridge - England - United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), reactive and breakdown works on Fire systems as well as being available to carry out other tasks in line with the contract's needs. The candidate must be able to demonstrate comprehensive experienced technical solutions for Fire across the building services environment. This position is fundamentally Mon-Fri 8-5 with a requirement to sometimes work OOH possibly in evenings or weekends. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: - Provide technical support to planned and responsive maintenance of Fire equipment and systems. This includes all systems under the remit of Fire; including but not limited to Gent Vigilon, Gas Suppression and Sprinklers. - Lead or support root cause analysis for system or equipment issues - Support the site Fire Team with incident investigations. - Provide technical design support to projects and lead commissioning activities. - Provide technical support to Fire Systems connected electrical or mechanical equipment, systems and subsystems. - Provide technical advice, guidance or training to other staff and customers on fire systems. - Maintain knowledge of client engineering guides and campus. - Regularly monitor the site fire system to investigate alarms and raise job tickets inline with current processes as set out by the planning team. - Apply updates and software patches to key equipment inline with the relevant Business Impact Assessment some of which is required OOH. - Attend some meetings whether over Teams or in Office to provide Technical knowledge of fire System faults/ repairs or planned projects. (Mainly during Holiday or Sick cover) PERSON SPECIFICATION: - Demonstrate previous experience in fault finding with various systems (Fire) - Strong problem-solving skills, technically adept and analytical - Must be able to read and work to mechanical and electrical schematic drawings. - Demonstrate knowledge of Gent Vigilon Systems - Good all-round knowledge of general building services, diagnostic and repair procedures. - Good working knowledge and understanding of Aspirating Systems, Kentec Gas Suppression, VoCall EVCS Refuge & Toilet Alarm System, Sprinkler system, Portable Fire Extinguishers and AOV Systems CBRE GWS CBRE Global Workplace Solutions (GWS) works with clients to make real estate a meaningful contributor to organizational productivity and performance.
