We are inviting applications to fill our vacancies at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, Chapel Allerton Hospital.
This post would be suitable for someone having completed F1/2 and wishing to pursue a career in Hospital Medicine, General Practice or filling a gap between jobs. We are looking for a number of junior doctors to take up part-time or full-time posts.
Main duties of the job
At Chapel Allerton we value our junior doctors. We are a friendly and flexible department. We provide daily senior support on the ward, designated daily senior medical support, and are flexible to doctors' educational and leave requirements.
Most of the job will be spent looking after elective orthopaedic, dermatology, and rheumatology patients on the wards, regarding their medical and post-op care. We can also arrange time assisting in theatre and to attend, supernumerary, in out-patients if desired. There will be regular on-the-ward teaching for the post holder. There is a 1 in 13 out-of-hours rota covering the Chapel Allerton hospital site on evenings and weekends. On-call cover will also include dermatology, rheumatology, and complex neuro-rehab cover.
The specialties at Chapel Allerton Hospital are elective Orthopaedic Surgery, Rheumatology, Neuro-Rehabilitation, and Dermatology. The post is not formally recognised for surgical training.
Minimum Requirements
Candidates must be ALS trained, fully registered with the GMC, and have completed foundation training or equivalent. They will be required to complete e-meds training.

Skills
* Be eligible for full registration with, and hold a current licence to practise from, the GMC at intended start date
* Eligibility to work in the UK
* Advanced Life Support Certificate from the Resuscitation Council UK or equivalent (as required to complete Foundation competences) by intended start date
Qualifications
* MBBS or MB ChB or equivalent
* ATLS MRCS AO Basic course or equivalent
Clinical, Academic, and Personal Skills
* Demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics
* Evidence of involvement in an audit project, a quality improvement project, formal research project or other activity which focuses on patient safety and clinical improvement
* Evidence of interest in and experience of teaching
Clinical Experience and Career Progression
* 3 years experience after full GMC registration or equivalent, and evidence of achievement of foundation competences, in line with GMC standards / Good Medical Practice
* Minimum of 1-year experience of Orthopaedic Surgery at ST3+ level (or equivalent). Able to resuscitate patients and complete ward rounds.
