Maintenance Technician (Temporary Contract)
* Hourly Rate: £15.38 - £16.83 (Based on a 40-hour week and annual equivalent of £32,000 - £35,000)
* Location: Sheffield City Centre
* Job Type: Temporary, Full-time (40 hours per week)
Join one of the leading companies in the Build-to-Rent (BTR) sector. We design, build, and operate large-scale branded apartment schemes for rent. We are currently expanding and looking for a Maintenance Technician on a temporary contract to manage our new 335-apartment scheme in Sheffield City Centre.
Day-to-day of the role:
* Full responsibility for the appearance and running of the Sheffield scheme, including day-to-day checks, repairs, and maintenance of apartments and communal spaces.
* Collaborate with colleagues on site, the block manager, and third-party contractors.
* Handle physically demanding tasks in a high-rise residential development.
* Coordinate with contractors to report, manage, and facilitate the defects programme.
* Diagnose, repair, and resolve issues in resident apartments, including appliance fixes, painting, and joinery repairs.
* Manage daily maintenance requests from residents within specified time frames using a CRM system.
* Ensure all areas of the building, including exterior, car parks, and internal communal areas, are clean and present well.
* Lead on sourcing and managing relationships with contractors, ensuring compliance and safety across the scheme.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* Highly organised, thriving in a fast-paced environment, able to manage your own workload and work proactively.
* Good technical knowledge with experience in residential repair including carpentry, joinery, painting, and decorating.
* Basic plumbing and electrical experience is desirable.
* Health & Safety compliance knowledge or IOSH certification.
* Experience in residential (PRS, BTR, or PBSA) or hospitality sectors is advantageous.
* Proven record of overseeing Health & Safety and compliance and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM).
* Excellent customer service skills with a passion for delivering exceptional resident experiences.
