The Role
As a Technical Service Manager, you will be responsible for developing, testing, and supporting hydraulic systems, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. You will work closely with customers, sales teams, and engineering departments to deliver tailored hydraulic solutions that meet diverse industry requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. Review, advise and process technical requests from customers for new product solutions.
2. Answer technical questions on hydraulic products and recommend application of products.
3. Interpret and understand customer hydraulic circuits to ensure solutions meet customer requirements.
4. Manage Technical email Inbox. Work closely with Customer Services/Sales in determining products for customer requirements.
5. Generate custom solutions with QuickDesign.
6. Support Sales Managers within their customer activities.
7. Generate standard sales quotations/proposals, via costings.
8. Assist Purchasing with procurement of parts and set up & update parts in MRP system.
9. Provide phone support for installation and troubleshooting.
10. Provide support for production departments with customer orders as and when required.
11. Provide support for warranty returns and identify, interpret and implement ISO and customer specifications/requirements.
12. Provide technical support on hydraulic applications, assisting customers and internal teams.
What We're Looking For
1. Experience in the hydraulic sector.
2. Strong knowledge of hydraulic components, circuits, and control systems.
3. Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and hydraulic calculations.
4. Experience in industries such as Off-Highway, Agriculture, Construction, Manufacturing, or Fluid Power.
5. Problem-solving mindset with a hands-on approach to technical challenges.
6. Strong communication and customer-facing skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts.
7. Willingness to travel across the UK to support customers and projects.
8. Relevant qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power, or a related field.
