English Teacher Location: Wirral Pay: £130 - £170 Per day, dependent on payroll choice Sector: Independent Special Needs School We are looking for a passionate English Teacher to join our team at an independent special needs school on the Wirral. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and support students with additional learning needs, helping them reengage with their education, develop their literacy skills, and build confidence. About the School: This small provision caters for young people aged 11-14 who have experienced disruptions in their education. The school focuses on rebuilding students' confidence and self-esteem through a multi-agency approach, combining academic support with emotional and therapeutic development. With a capacity for 32 students (currently 12 on roll), the school offers small class sizes (3-5 pupils) and a high staff-to-student ratio. Students also take part in enriching activities like horse riding, team-building, and vocational training in beauty and hairdressing, gaining life skills alongside their academic learning. Your Role as an English Teacher: Plan, deliver, and assess engaging English lessons tailored to meet the individual needs of students. Help students improve their literacy skills, including reading, writing, and speaking. Provide support for students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, creating a safe and supportive learning environment. Differentiate lesson content and teaching strategies to meet the diverse learning needs of students. Encourage a love of reading and writing, fostering confidence in using the English language. Work closely with staff to develop and implement personalised education plans for students. What We're Looking For: Qualified teacher status (QTS) and experience teaching English, preferably to students with additional needs. A passion for helping students develop their literacy and communication skills. Strong communication, classroom management, and organisational skills. Empathy, patience, and the ability to adapt teaching methods to meet individual student needs. A proactive attitude and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and support staff.
